Teaching by Samuel Kaski

NOTE: I am currently director of Helsinki Institute for Information Technology HIIT and off-duty from my professor's position. I continue supervising theses, and even teach courses when I have the time. Regarding other issues of teaching and education, please contact other professors of the department, for bioinformatics Harri Lähdesmäki (firstname.lastname@aalto.fi).

I contribute to the degree programmes of Computer Science and Bioinformation Technology, and to the international Master's programmes Macadamia (Machine Learning and Data Mining) and MBI (Bioinformatics). I am in charge or co-responsible of some majors. More details here.

I teach a few courses and supervise theses; suitable thesis topics include machine learning, data analysis, probabilistic modeling, pattern recognition, information visualization, and their applications. Recently I have had applications particularly in bioinformatics, computational systems biology, computational neuroscience, information retrieval, and proactive interfaces, but the list is not comprehensive. Feel free to contact me for a thesis topic!
